Ruby's Fears [poetry and video]

"I was born in a little mining village just outside Sunderland, about ten minutes from the seafront. Very rocky - not a place to play, not much sand. I never learned to swim even though we were on the seafront. My father and brothers were miners. Their wages were very low. We never had any parties or anything. I remember playing tennis with a piece of string across the road."

Ruby is a natural storyteller - her delivery and phrasing is captivating. In this project, she captured her unique style together with some unforgettable lifestories, to create the poem "Ruby's Fears".
