quarry quarry

When we were young, there were two big parallel hills outside the back of the house near the quarries; one hill was the boys' from the Grove and the other hill was ours. I can remember sliding down the hills on bits of galvanised tin. The hills seemed like mountains to us, but they must have been only about 70 foot high. We used to have stone fights with the Grove boys. The hills were only about 50 foot apart. It was a wonder none of us was killed. Nowadays kids just sit and watch TV.

We never used to have a bathroom. Bath consisted of a large tin bath which my father filled with water. My younger brother went first, then me, and then the dog!
