About us

Patients are admitted to the Macmillan Palliative Care Unit, when, as the name suggests they are at the palliative stage of their illness. There are eighteen beds on the unit: 6 single rooms and four bays each with 3 beds.

Pola Livesey is the artist in residence at the Northern General, where because to the nature of the unit the great majority of the work is made by the bedside.
